rumo is a local social app for discovering what’s happening around you. From parties and classes to food, sports and everyday updates, you can join conversations with people nearby. People share under their own name, and updates about the same place or event stay together in one story.

Is it only for local news?

There’s room for parties, classes, food, sports, local questions and everyday updates. If it’s about a place or event nearby, there’s a conversation to be had.

How is rumo different from a neighbourhood group chat?

On rumo, updates about the same thing stay together in one story. You can read the first question, what people shared and what happened next without searching through unrelated messages.

Can a story be about a person?

No. Stories are about places, businesses, organisations and events. Someone’s personal life is not a story. People cannot be searched, ranked or turned into stories.

What does “Settled” mean?

A story settles after fourteen days with no new updates, or when the business or organisation it is about posts its own reply. It is marked Settled, and you can still read everything people shared.

Reading and writing are free. Ads are clearly labelled and never buy control over a story. Saving a story as a dated PDF costs ₹149–199 in India or $19 in the US, per export. Storage for photos and recordings is charged by usage.
